With over 32 years of experience in power system engineering, Omer has broad and deep expertise across multiple sectors, including transmission and distribution, generation, renewable energy, transportation, and water. His core specialization lies in power system analysis, covering generation connection studies, power system stability, insulation coordination, harmonic analysis, fault level studies, protection system coordination, as well as substation and cable feeder design.
Beyond his technical expertise, Omer has served as an advisor on renewable energy projects, conducting in-depth due diligence. He has played a key role in developing grid connection strategies and performing analyses for various renewable energy integrations. Additionally, he has led multiple power system studies for the front-end engineering design (FEED) of offshore generation plants.
Omer has been involved in large-scale renewable energy projects, including offshore wind, onshore wind, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and photovoltaic (PV) projects, with a total capacity exceeding 3 GW.
His contributions to the rail sector in New South Wales are highly regarded, particularly for his role in power system analysis for the Sydney Metro and Sydney Trains networks. His leadership in delivering the power system analysis for Sydney Metro resulted in the implementation of innovative energy conservation solutions and the effective use of regenerative energy.
